You have bought a Subaru by now, right?

This has been sitting on the backburner for a while, but it’s finally done. Other than the new styles, the most obvious change is probably putting honorifics throughout (for some reason, they were in two or three episodes and left out of the rest), but there are a few lines that were tweaked to use (hopefully) less confusing language. Most of the actual changes were actually to the timing, though, and the President/Nanako speech thing combined with a tendency of lines to bleed past keyframes made for a somewhat more complicated job than usual.

The new Carnival Phantasm OVA is now subbed. Translating a pure comedy like this can be pretty challenging, especially when they pile on the wordplay. Hopefully everything flows well and you get a few laughs out of it, even if you won’t be ejaculating a hundred times.

Fun fact: the Japanese word for “ejaculation” sounds the same as the word they use to welcome you to a store.

Despite being a recap movie, there’s actually a good deal of new content in this one. So on top of the time spent finding lines in the original and retiming them to the movie, there was a lot of original translation work to be done. There were also three new songs, so that took some effort. Thanks to that, it took a bit longer than expected, but it also keeps the movie from getting boring. Now to wait for that season two they keep promising.

There are many things you can call your older brother, but his name is not one of them.

Manga has sort of taken over recently, so this kept getting pushed to the side and ended up taking forever to finish despite being relatively simple. Both Doki’s and the official subs were decent, so there’s a little bit of both in here along with a variety of tweaks and touch-ups. Episodes 4 and 8 are novel in that most of the dialogue is conveyed through signs rather than the traditional method. Hopefully it remains easy-to-read for everyone.

This is an updated version of the complete One Room series that uses the same, higher-quality encodes for the full series. There was also a minor edit to one episode’s typesetting, but it is mainly just to make it easy to watch in better quality with smaller filesizes. In the future, we will try to hold off on batch releases if the available raws are subpar and only stress speed for individual episodes that lack alternative releases.

Long Riders! – BD

Cycling is a lot like a woman, it’s better when everything stays flat.

It’s been a long ride, but we’ve finally finished up the Long Riders BDs. Actas made a lot of improvements to the initial version, and we’ve followed suite with the subs. The original script has been torn apart and improved to be more accurate, better fitting, and a lot prettier. Hopefully it was worth the wait.

Also, we are interested in working on the manga, but we lack the staff to pull it off in a timely fashion right now. If you’re interested in helping, let us know.

One Room – BD

BDs for the second season are done. They included a series of picture dramas containing epilogues for each of the girls. Looking back, a lot of stuff in our release of the first season wasn’t satisfactory, so we’ve basically redone the entire thing to keep the quality and style consistent with the second season.

As always, working off OCR’d scripts is a pain, even after finFAGs went over them. There were also some slight differences in the video between the BDs and the Amazon video that made a lot of signs just slightly off. So there were a lot of basic fixes with this one: timing, missing or incorrect characters, and redoing signage. And of course, the usual BD bells and whistles have been added too.

Since the three fansub groups that picked this up all stalled, here’s KonoBi. The official translation was pretty good for the most part, better than the fansubs in several cases, but it’s always nice to be able to see multiple takes on a line. The styling for the second ED is a bit gaudy, but hopefully it doesn’t stand out too much for anyone. Enjoy your thirsty JC.
